People crave the latest headlines, and now the Newsie app makes it even easier for them to keep up to speed. The Newsie app links to an existing Google Reader account.

This means that any subscriptions to online publications and blogs that the reader accesses through their Google account will be available to them through the app as well. Not only this, but any items that they have already accessed or made notes to via the website will automatically sync with the app and allow the reader to avoid re-reading any items already covered.

The app also allows the reader to forward items to the Instapaper area which saves them to the device for later reading, and they can also use the Tweetie and Twitterific tabs to share stories with friends as well. App users can also select the ideal reading format for their screen, save their place in an article, add notes, and add custom filters to their river of news menu too.
