If you wanted to eat within a specific part of a city, or even a certain neighborhood you would have to usually know which restaurants were already there. If, however, you used the Yahoo! Sketch-a-Search app you could just circle the area and wait for a list of results.

The Yahoo! Sketch-a-Search app uses a reverse search pattern to show the app user the different restaurants and dining establishments in the area they indicate. The app asks the user to just draw a circle around the area in question, and tap a few of the keywords from the menu provided in order to perform a search. This will then generate a list of results created by the choices in cuisine, overall atmosphere, or even rating.

The app will allow searches by GPS location or by a selected city, and will even offer up such details as the phone number, turn by turn directions, photos, and menus and prices when available. If you find a restaurant that sounds like the ideal solution for you and your friends or partner, you can even share the details via the built-in email feature too.

There are many travel apps that indicate local restaurants, or which offer up area information, but the Yahoo! Sketch-a-Search app gives results based strictly on the specific geographic location provided by the app user.
