Lúan is an Old Irish word for the moon, and today many people like to observe and follow the moon in all of its phases. The Lúan app delivers this data in several very specific ways. First, it identifies the location of the app user in order to give them the most accurate details about moon cycles, rising and setting times, and images. It then delivers a standard Gregorian calendar that shows what the moon is going to look like on each of the coming days, weeks, months or even years.

The day can be selected in order for the app user to also get a full interface view of the moon for that specific day. There are also animations available showing a time lapse representation of the phases of the moon for a specific period of time. Should someone need a specific list of “lunation” dates for the month, the app will tell them when the First Quarter Moon, Full Moon, Last Quarter Moon, and New Moon occur.

There are several astronomical apps that give lunar details, but the Lúan app is one strictly dedicated to the phases and details of the monthly lunar calendar. It is currently compatible with iPhone and iPod Touch devices only.
