We all know the various ways that standard text has been shortened to accommodate the cramped keyboards on most mobile devices. While it works for texting, when it comes to creative and expressive writing it can often prove a problem. The MoleScreen app is designed to eliminate the keyboard altogether and allow writing and note taking to be natural.

The MoleScreen app uses the touch-screen features of the device as a replacement for the standard keyboard. The app uses fingers to write in the entry box and transfers text to the screen –this text is formatted to fit on the individual pages created. There is a sketch button that allows free flowing doodles and drawing, an eraser key to touch up work on the screen, and the ability to insert photographs, switch to different ink colors, and to even index pages too.

The app uses touch functions to navigate through journal pages, and makes it easy to insert images from the camera roll and resize them too. For example, an app user could create a real-time travel journal inserting images of themselves, portions of maps and landscapes, and adding notes to record their experiences, and when complete they could easily combine pages too.
