User Rating:When the Kinect was released for the Xbox 360, one of the first games available was Kinectimals. In this fun game, players could take care of virtual cubs on the island of Lemuria. Well, this successful game is now available on the iPhone and iPad, and it is almost as fun as the Kinect version.
In the iOS version, players get to take care of virtual cubs. You start out with a few species, but as you advance through the game, more species are unlocked. In the game, players take care of their cubs by playing with them, training them, feeding them, and cleaning them. Kinectimals is obviously aimed at the younger crowd, as no ill effects occur when you do not take care of your cubs.
In Kinectimals, players earn experience by teaching their cubs tricks and taking care of their cubs. Earning experience translates to leveling up and unlocking different parts of Lemuria. A cool way to earn experience involves using Location Services and the built in camera. After setting your home location, users can take their cubs on adventures by using the camera. Achievements such as taking a picture of your cub at home or in your neighborhood are available to make the game more interactive.
The graphics are great in Kinectimals, and the cubs are very adorable. Of course, the downside to high-quality graphics is a hit on battery life, but this is a small price to pay for a fun game for your kids.
The game features a cute gameplay that’s easy for young children to understand. Adults or older children may find this game boring because there aren’t any real goals except for unlocking new cubs and gaining experience. However, fans of Sims may like this game because of the virtual animal aspect.
Kinectimals is a fun game for young children. It could teach them responsibility or keep them busy in the car. It may not be suitable for the older people, but it is a nice alternative to the Kinect-version. Check it out in the App Store today!
