LinkedIn. There is really not much to introduce about this app. A social networking app brought to the iOS platform, LinkedIn gives users access to one of the biggest professional social networks in the world.

In terms of content, the LinkedIn app does not differ much from the actual site that can be browsed on computers. The app is but a compressed, mini version of the desktop site optimized for use on a touch screen device, just updated for iPad support. Of course, please do not expect to have access to every function like on the desktop site. However, in comparison to the Twitter and Facebook apps, LinkedIn does its job just fine.

The one thing I always look out for when reviewing social network apps would be the presentation of information on the app. Fortunately, LinkedIn scores well in the aesthetics department. Not only does the color scheme compliment itself, data is also arranged neatly making navigation extremely easy. LinkedIn comes with the standard tap and scroll navigation format common in many social networking apps. I like how important buttons such as the reply or compose buttons for instance, are big, making tapping on them easy but yet they do not clutter the screen.

For a free app, LinkedIn is something you might want to download. At the end of the day, it all boils down onto personal preference on whether you want to use the app (for iPad or iPhone) to access the social network. This is because LinkedIn also has a mobile friendly site accessible via mobile Safari on your device, so it is up to you on whether you need a dedicated app to access this network.

Quick Take

Value:Med

Would I Buy Again:No. The mobile web version suffices for me.

Learning Curve:Simple. Navigation is extremely easy and neat without clutter.

Who Is It For:Users of the LinkedIn social network

What I Like:Clutter free organization layout.

What I Don't Like:App is virtually identical to the touch site, so there is hardly a point in downloading this.

Final Statement:It all boils down to personal preference.
