Mad Rush is what happens when anthropomorphic cute, funny animals get superpowers and have to save the world from evil aliens.  There’s a cute animation when you first start the game to give you a semblance of the “plot”.

In the game itself, you play a rabbit named Noop that has to race aliens to prevent them from invading Earth (or whatever planet he lives on).  There are a few subtle Star Wars references in the beginning animation as well.

To stop the aliens, you have to race them in a jetpack by flying upwards to a finish line.  On the way, you have to eat various colored bugs and carrots while in the air and avoid exploding blockades.  The objective is to beat your alien opponent.  You tap a button to start your jetpack’s engine and use the tilt controls of the device (iPhone or iPad) to steer around the sky.  There will soon be a multiplayer version of the game, but it’s not here yet.

The animations are extremely well-done and build up the “plot” and game play is addictive, smooth and fairly easy, although it took me a try or two to get used to the controls.  If you get confused, the game comes with a good help section regarding the nuances of playing in the Settings.  You can also set it to mute to avoid the blood-pumping music in the background, although you may like it.

This is a very cute game and a lot of entertainment for a dollar.
