Generally the Top Free Apps section is filled with some new unique games or releases from great franchises. It’s obvious how much I was surprised to see a video editing app among them. It reminded me of the days when Instagram was released and how could I not take a look?
As it turns out, Magisto is in fact similar to Instagram except that this one is the master of videos. Take your camera for a spin and choose from a set of themes. Add some popular titles or select one from your own library and let your iPhone mash it up. After few seconds of rendering, you’ll be amazed to see the final professional-looking product. A total remix of your video with cut scenes, slow motions, blurs, replays, flickers and beats!
Once video is done, it’s time to show the world. Whether it be you with some MJ moves or your baby’s first steps or a message for your valentine, reaching your friends and family is just a button away. Though not a Social network on its own, sharing via Facebook, Twitter or iMessages forms the highlight of the app. Friends as usual can comment or like or share them and the concept of viral videos is reborn.
The interface is rather straight forward and minimalist, with a lot of help to get you started. The variety of themes and the great selection of songs, keeps boredom away. Sorting of videos into categories and specific sharing options are a great feature. But, the free app comes with an upload/download limit. So you might want to do some trial runs and gather some buddies before deciding to subscribe a plan. Though the monthly rate seems unjustified, the annual subscription for $18 is surely tempting. So go grab this app and tell us what you think.
