Do you ever wonder what people are thinking? Do you wish you could read people’s minds? Bluefinger has recently released an app that claims to do just this using your iPhone’s built in camera. Now you can unlock the mysteries of what your loved ones are thinking. The world of the mind is no longer a vault, but an open door.

Well maybe that was a bit of an exaggeration. Mindscan is an app that will use facial recognition to guess and what mood a person is in based on their facial expressions. When you start the app you can use either live camera feed, or a photo from your library. Mindscan then goes about finding all the faces in the photo and places one of twelve moods over each face. You are then able to send your mood to others via Facebook or Twitter.

Mindscan is one of those novelty apps that are fun to play with, but don’t take them too seriously. Mindscan scan worked best with front facing pictures, and had a hard time recognizing faces from angles or with lots of light behind them. Mindscan is available for $.99 but there is also a lite version that doesn’t do the live mood scanning. I am reading your mind right now and it says you will be downloading this app.
