I have been looking to review this app for quite some time, but couldn’t due to some crashing bugs. And now, all is well after their latest update and frankly, Mish and Mash Cakery is alot better than I expected.
This one is a new kind of puzzle where you help out a couple of chefs to get their pastries ready. The gameplay is a little hard to get into, but once you capture the drill, you are addicted. The game begins with your cutting-board of 36 squares and you have to make sure it doesn’t fill up. Some tiles are occupied with ingredients, to begin with and in each step, you’ll receive a new random ingredient to place at any free tile. You have to combine three of the same kind to form a new item, three of which in turn produces a new ingredient and so on, till the final dish is cooked.
The tiles you choose at each step, decides how the game turns out later and hence, ‘planning ahead’ is your winning mantra. Mostly, you’ll never reach the final dish and the points you score is just for the partial recipes. Whenever you feel stuck, use coins to purchase missing items, delete blocking ones or blend similar items to free up tiles. Of course, this doesn’t come for free and you might want to purchase coins from IA (when the earned ones fall short). If you are aiming for high scores, you’ll surely need those purchases; so, keep some bucks ready.
The guide and the initial tutorial level is not very convincing and I had a hard time figuring out the gameplay. If you have similar issues, donot give up here; spend some time with it, till you fall in the groove and I am sure you’ll never notice time passing.
