User Rating:We are making a batch of reviews of great writing apps for November. Why November? Because NaNoWriMo is going on! What is NaNoWriMo? The National Novel Writing Month! You have a month to write a full novel, and the month is November. And the iPad could be your 2.0 typewriter.
Pages is the great player in the writing app game. Backed by Apple, it should represent the top in writing for iPad. Does it stand up to par?
Well, for some kind of writing is the perfect app. Slim, handy. Effective. Feels like you have the real Pages (or an app looking like Word) in your iPad. No regrets, but nothing awesome really. This is not an app for writers, but an app for writing. Like in writing a quick memo, or setting a voucheur.
As usual with Apple’s productivity suite, comes equipped with a decent tutorial to get you started, and after all, this is just for writing. But…. You can insert tables and charts, and edit the raw data used in them. Inserting shapes or images is equally easy. And comes with (by default off) word count.
Full blown, handy and effective. Maybe you won’t write the next American novel, but Pages may be perfect for writing your resumé.
