User Rating:Not a week passes when I needn’t review an endless runner game. So, here is Rail Rush destined to fulfill the task this week.
Call Subway Surfers to your mind. Now, fuse it with the railway playground of Temple Run 2 and you’ll have something like Rail Rush to compare. You are a gold miner rushing through an abandoned mine on your cart. Travel deep through the treacherous tracks and collect as much gold as you can.
You have three parallel tracks but are broken or blocked in between. Swipe to jump from one to another and time it well to avoid a fall to death. Use the accelerometer to sway and collect coins or to dodge the partially broken tracks. Occasional gems and mystic eggs are also available for pickup.
As you move along, the carriage gains speed and you just can’t see your swift finger. You pass from mines to subways to sewers to volcanoes and so on. Certain bonus tracks lead to a hidden gold treasure but are a little tricky to access. The common levelling up with missions isn’t spared either and the coins earned can be used to buy new characters, powerups and carts.
The controls seem clumsy at first but you get adopted well. The graphics and the not so unique sound effects aren’t the best you’ve seen but to be honest, the gameplay does well to make up. If I were to be in an unfortunate world without Temple Run or Subway Surfers, who knows, maybe this would’ve been my favorite.
Quick Take
Value:Medium-High
Would I Buy Again:Not anytime soon
Learning Curve:Medium
Who Is It For:Endless game lovers who are done with Temple Run and Subway surfers
What I Like:Alternate rules and the graphics
What I Don't Like:The execution is not the best around
