User Rating:Are you one of those people that sits down about once a week or so and goes over your shopping list to see what it is you need at the store? Or maybe you’re the type that keeps a pad and pencil on/next to the fridge so when you notice you are out of something you can just simply write it down so you don’t forget. Or maybe you are like me, and you make this nice list of all the things you need, and when you get to the store, you find out you forgot the list at home. Now you are faced with the decision to either try and remember everything you need, or drive all the way back home to get it and start all over again. Forgetting a shopping list before running to the store is an extremely common thing, but what is it we iPhone users never forget at home? Our iPhone! So now we can carry our shopping list with us at all times thanks to the app Shopping List (I love when names are simple).
Shopping List works great and it guarantees that you will never leave home without that list of things you need ever again, unless of course you are so forgetful that you even leave your phone. Simply open it up and you can easily create categories for each list, or you can add in different shops if you shop at multiple places. Once your category is created you can add items to it one by one and it will add to the list. Go to the store and you can check off each item as you pick it up. Once you are finished simply hit the options button and remove all checked items, or remove all items if you decide you didn’t need some items on the list. That’s all there is to it, next time you are ready to make a list simply open it up and begin. My favorite part of the app is the fact that it saves your entries. So once you add something you won’t ever have to type it in again, on the top right of the list screen is a series of three ‘+’ signs. Hit that and you can add one or as many items as you need simply by clicking each.
Shopping List is a great App and worked great for me when I went to the store, I managed to get everything I needed, which is great considering I usually get home and instantly remember the other twenty things I needed. My only complaint with Shopping List is the inability to add prices for each item. Other shopping list apps allow you to add quantity and price and it will add up the prices as you check them off. Makes it easy to stick to a budget without having to walk around the store with a calculator as well. If Shopping List would implement a way to add quantity and price to each item and subtotal it somewhere for easy viewing to keep an eye on expenses it would easily be a five star app. One other great update would be if they added the price option, if it gave you the ability to put in your local interest rate and figure it up each time you checked off an item. This would give it’s users an exact amount they can expect to pay at the register, which would be fantastic.
QUICK TAKE
Value: High
Would I Buy Again: Yes!
Learning Curve: Easy-Medium
Who is it For: Anyone who would like an easier way to store their shopping list.
My Likes: Easy to use and keeps entries stored for future use.
My Dislikes: No price option
Final Statement: Shopping List is an application I would recommend to anyone. I would expect an update soon to come to assist with the price problem, so that shouldn’t even be a problem very long.
