I’m a huge fan of single touch side scrolling games, so Rock Runners was something I saw myself enjoying. With all the complicated and content heavy games out there, it’s great to have something so simple to pull out just to while a couple of extra minutes away without having to spend so much time on lengthy cut scenes and whatnot.
The gameplay process forRock Runners is pretty basic to boot. The game does the moving for you, and all the player has to do is tap the screen at various intervals to perform a multitude of jumps and stunts. by varying how long one holds on to the tap. But while it does sound very simple, the crux and challenge of the game lies in effectively timing each tap and such accuracy does not come easy. As the game progresses with increased obstacles and speed picks up, players will find it increasingly difficult to time their taps accordingly.
Rock Runner does entice me in the aesthetics department, with the simple 3D space-age theme providing much eye candy. While not quite the lifelike and realistic renditions seen on larger consoles, Rock Runners does well for a mobile game and even more so for a casual game that does not pride itself in terms of graphics.
For just $0.99, I definitely recommend the download of this game.
