User Rating:Energy efficiency has been on the rise during the last decades. The Kyoto protocol to reduce state emissions has been the big umbrella covering nation-wide efforts, while subtler and smaller changes have been creeping in everyday’s life. Low-power bulbs and LED lamps are the tip of the iceberg formed by A+ refrigerators and washing machines. The free Save fuel app will help you understand why you should change your tyres, and how.
Starting November 1st all European countries will start labelling their tyres following the same energy efficiency code now used for refrigerators, washing machines and in general, any big appliance. From A to G, from most to least efficient tyres will show you how petrol hungry they are. Of course, changing your four current tyres for A level is expensive. But you will be driving a lot with them, saving money while you drive.
Save fuel will give you down-to-the-minute estimates about how long it will take for your new A-tires to make for the difference in price, taking into account fuel prices in your country, your driving style, vehicle and annual mileage. With it you can decide if your budget can accomodate top-notch tires or something more standard.
In short: if you have a car, truck or cycle and are living in the European Union, you definitely need Save fuel. Period.

Final Statement:You must have this app if you own a vehicle!
From November 2012, obligatory labelling for new tires will apply across the EU. The labels rank the fuel efficiency of each tire and are very similar to those found on home appliances such as fridges and freezers. The more efficient the tire, the better the ranking, making it easy for you to find the most fuel efficient tires.
Calculate how much fuel and money you can save and you can find out how quickly the tire becomes worthwhile.
