User Rating:The iOS platform has given flash game developers a golden opportunity to open their games to a wide mobile audience. The iOS’s short history has shown that mobile gamers favor innovative gameplay over flashy graphics. Many of the top games for the platform as very basic in design, but have an addictive gameplay that brings gamers back for more. Today we will look at a favorite flash port of mine, Spike Dislike.
I don’t know about you, but I certainly dislike spikes. IN gaming parlance, the spike is one of those mechanics that can make the everyday platformer a nightmare. They sit passively in the very spot you would naturally choose to place yourself, waiting to the unsuspecting adventurer to do that very thing, and in turn, meet their untimely end. In Spike Dislike you control a ball that is endlessly bouncing. You must navigate it forward while avoiding the spikes placed at all elevations.
The controls are simply tap to move forward. The challenge comes from the placements of the spikes, and the speed at which your ball bounces. The game offers a variety of controls to change the game. You can change the spike layout from set varieties to random. You can set the speed of the ball from slow to a variation of the game where the ball moves forward indefinitely and you must, instead tap to change the ball’s elevation. You can also switch the game’s graphics to one of seven styles. Each spike variety and difficulty have their own high scores which are shown on the screen between games. There isn’t any game center support which is disappointing because there is no way to compare scores. The game gives you to mercy, but the quick gameplay lets you play s couple rounds almost anywhere. This quick reaction casual game is definitely one that you should check out. It is currently $.99 in the app store. The flash version can be found at all the usual flash game sites.
We rate this app 3.5 out of 5 stars.
