In my non-researched opinion, there are about a gillion pinball games available in the App Store. With that in mind, any Star Wars pinball game immediately distinguishes itself by having Star Wars in it.
The game itself has marvelous graphics capability and is very fun to play (how else can you describe it when the ball release mechanism is a lightsaber?). It’s not clearly indicated, but tapping almost anywhere in the lower left and right-hand sections of the screen activate the flippers. Between levels, it even simulates the graphics of an actual pinball machine by showing monochrome motion graphics at a low resolution.
You can play one-player or multi-player via the Game Center. Several features are customizable in the Settings including nudge sensitivity and audio effects volume.
The most disappointing aspect of the game is that only one table variation is available upon your two-dollar purchase. Granted, it’s for the best movie in the saga (The Empire Strikes Back) but it does seem chintzy. Supposedly more tables will be available in future updates. In the game’s defense, even though I didn’t do the in-app purchases, the other two tables, which are for the cartoon Clone Wars series and Boba Fett, look pretty cool.
As someone who is old enough to remember playing with pinball machines, this app is pretty great. It definitely has a retro feel but with enough special effects to make it a fun video game. Put in a few more table variations in the initial purchase and you got yourself a winner.

Who Is It For:Those that like Star Wars, pinball or both.
What I Like:Great graphics. Lots of throwback references to the original movies.
What I Don't Like:Only one pinball machine available at purchase.
Final Statement:Defeat the Dark Side with this game (unless you are the Dark Side).
