User Rating:What happens when Canabalt gets a sword? You get Swift Blade, from H2Indie. And they have done a very stylish game with the best flowing animations I’ve seen (except for another game from them).
This is one of the most addicting games I’ve ever had in my iPod and iPad (this is a universal app!), only comparable to the “original” run and escape game, Canabalt. In Swift Blade you play the role of a ninja, dressed in white, running from rooftop to rooftop, killing foes: other ninja, dressed in black.
You have a nice and shiny katana, and can jump, other ninjas have throwing stars in addition to katana. A death run, because there is nowhere to go except death.
The game features awesome controls (although they can be frustrating in the beginning). With swiping and tapping gestures you can do a bunch of moves: parry an opponent sword, slash an opponent, stop a flying star or attack while jumping.
The game animations are superb, all ninjas have very flowing movements that except for the fact that the colours and drawings are cartoonish, would make you think it is all real.
It’s a steal for this price, and will have you playing again and again and showing your friends, who will want to play again and again, too.
Quick Take
Value:Huge
Would I Buy Again:Sure!
Learning Curve:Medium
Who Is It For:Infinite runners: Canabalt, Dead run and so on
What I Like:The fluid animations
What I Don't Like:It can get a little monotonous after like 10000 ninjas killed
