Are you sick of slow loading times while you’re trying to surf forums on your browser? Well, aren’t we all. But, hey, there’s an app for that! The Tapatalk Forum App allows painless browsing and posting on some of your favorite online communities, such as the IGN boards, Blu-ray.com forums, AndroidForums, and Niketalk. In fact, Tapatalk boasts over 35,000 of the most popular public forums right inside the app. One word for that: Awesome!
The Good
Forum usage using the Tapatalk app is incredibly quick and easy. There’s virtually no loading times; Tapatalk has no problems keeping up with you. There’s also a category browser for you to stumble across new forums, as well as a helpful search which will quickly let you know if your favorite forum is included in the Tapatalk app. Image posting from the app is also a breeze, and viewing YouTube videos is now possible within the app, instead of moving you to the YouTube app. There’s a dark mode, and that’s always a big plus in my book.
The Bad
The biggest con is the most obvious con: not all forums are included. One of my favorite forums, Boxden, is not available on Tapatalk. Unfortunately, if you want a themed version of Tapatalk, you have to pay $2.99 extra and download a completely different app. So, if you want a blue skinned Tapatalk for your mobile phone, but a Red one for your tablet, you’d have to pay $2.99 EACH for them.
The Ugly Truth
At $2.99 (less than the cost of a McDonald’s Happy Meal), Tapatalk is a must-have app for those frequent forum-ers. Paying a small cost for an experience that is exponentially better than browsing forums on any mobile browser is well worth it.
