User Rating:Disney is here with Wreck-it Ralph game, for the promotion of their movie of the same name. The movie portraits Ralph, the villain in an arcade game, who is tired of evil and wants to be the good guy. In his quest for the hero status, he wanders through other games in the arcade and finally, sees his way through. Wreck-it Ralph app is a set of three games, each corresponding to a game visited by Ralph in the movie.
Fix it Felix Jr.– This is the actual arcade game where Ralph is the bad guy and he breaks down the windows of a pixel building. Felix, our hero, has to fix all the panes while escaping the brick rain from Ralph.
Sugar Rush Sweet Jumper – Though the movie depicts Sugar Rush as a cart-racing game, here, we have to be satisfied with a Doodle Jump version of Ralph. Jump over candy sticks, use fuzzy drinks as jetpacks, collect sweets on the way, bounce over jellies and so on.
Hero’s Duty – The only landscape game in the set, which is a dual-stick eagle-eye view game like hundreds we’ve seen before. Green bugs appear from nowhere and you have to shoot’em up. Hot iron grills and boxes block you while, explosives and power-ups help clearing levels.
The graphic quality increases from the fixing game to the shooting game, in accordance with the movie. The menu effects are impressive with an arcade rush audio in the background and a mall cop with instructions. Each game window shows their global high scores with your meagre score at the bottom (atleast in my case). I couldn’t find any options to share score to FB or Twitter, so bragging is not in the scene.
Although the overall performance of this game was satisfactory, I am convinced that this is not worth the buck I spend. The Sweet Jumper and Hero’s Duty games can be replaced by a dozen free yet better games, like Froggy Jump and GeoFighter respectively. The only game which brings something new is Fix it Felix Jr. and guess what, this game is available in the AppStore for free as a stand-alone game (full review coming soon). So unless you are fond of tossing coins into the river or you liked the movie so much as to thank Disney, I suggest you stay away!
